Derfen Original by Animaderm is the lotion for fine-skinned horses that calms scratching of the mane and tail following summer itch attacks. This care product has a long-lasting effectiveness (3-7 days).
First of all, you have to check which category of skin the horse belongs to: thin or thick. For this, refer to the photos above. If the horse's skin is thick, it is better to use Derfen Clear.
Scratches related to summer itch or insects can quickly become public enemy No. 1, especially when they are located in areas that are difficult to access. Derfen Original is the oldest product in the Animaderm range. For 14 years he has relieved horses prone to scratching. Derfen Original is made with ultra-calming dry oils that won't clog thin skin. By nature, fine skin struggles to keep classic oils for a long time. Derfen Original has been specially formulated to overcome this particularity and stays on the horse's skin for a long time, also because it is water-free. Thanks to this formula, 1 to 2 applications of Derfen Original per week are enough to durably calm the sensations of itching and to repair damaged skin even in the event of rain or heavy perspiration. Derfen Original should not be applied daily or for prevention.

- Brush lightly the area aim with a soft brush
- Shake the bottle to obtain a homogeneous mixture
- Apply the product between the hairs then massage gently using gloves
Derfen Original is a black, staining product with a powerful and persistent odor.
Each skin being different, the renewal of the application can vary from one horse to another: between 4 and 10 days. Watch carefully the moment when the horse starts scratching again. This will give the average delay between 2 applications that best corresponds to it.
Derfen Original should never be applied every day or for prevention.
Respect the time between each application (at least 3 days apart).
Apply Derfen Original on clean skin (trimmed and brushed).
Derfen Original can be applied to pregnant mares and foals over 6 months old. In the case of a mare in foal, do not apply proche the udders or the inside of the thighs if the foal is head. For other parts of the mare's body, check that the smell of Derfen Original does not disturb suckling before applying on a regular basis.

Derfen Original is a concentrate of natural active ingredients, it is recommended, like any product, to test the lotion first on a small area and wait 24 hours before apply it all over the body.
