Lithothamne by ESC Laboratoire is a calcareous algae which has the particularity of capturing the minerals contained in seawater in ionized form. Lithothamne is purplish-red in color. It is found on the Atlantic coast, particularly in Brittany but also in the Mediterranean at depths of 15 to 20cm. Components: minerals (calcium, sodium, magnesium, iodine, iron, manganese, silica, etc.), amino acids, vitamin C, aspartic and glutamic acid, alginates. Lithothamne, an algae source of minerals recommended for tired or deficient horses: lithothamne is an oceanic algae and is a source of easily assimilated calcium and magnesium. Lithothamne is useful in the event of a deficient diet or demineralization. This seaweed is also recommended during gastric acidity. The minerals and trace elements crystallize once the seaweed is picked. It thus becomes an excellent alkaline source. For this reason, lithothamne is composed of 33% calcium carbonate. What to combine the lithothamne care product with? If there is a need for increased remineralization, lithothamne can be supplemented with a course of Rotzelle, a liquid complementary food made from a mixture of plants and enriched with biotin, selenium and zinc. Rotzelle helps increase energy capacity and resistance to exercise and provides a source of directly assimilable iron.
