Well known in cosmetics for its moisturizing and anti-aging action, hyaluronic acid is also recommended to maintain joints. Hyaluronic acid is in fact the main constituent of cartilage and synovial fluid responsible for joint flexibility and which has the role of providing oxygen to cartilage cells. Involved in the renewal of synovial fluid, hyaluronic acid also acts on the level of prostaglandins (the cause of inflammation, pain and stiffness), which gives it interesting anti-inflammatory properties, particularly in horses whose joints are very stressed or lacking in flexibility.
