GOTS certification is the most comprehensive and credible textile product certification system for the end consumer in terms of production that respects the principles of sustainable development.

This certification makes it possible to guarantee the organic status of the textile fibers used, and ensures that from the production of the raw materials to the production of the finished article, the production processes used are socially responsible and respectful of the environment.

This standard covers all stages of the production of a textile article: processing, packaging, labeling, export, import and distribution of natural fiber products.

The obligations of the GOTS standard are of high level. The fibers must be natural and must be grown organically, according to production standards such as those provided for in EEC Regulation 2092/91, or NOP regulations.

Production processes are also taken into account, each processing step having to meet certain criteria, all processes are taken into account (spinning, weaving, washing, etc.).

The GOTS standard also includes strict criteria in terms of the use of processing aids, which must be the most respectful of the environment and the health of workers and consumers (the dyeing products used must, for example, comply with numerous constraints in this sense).

GOTS also incorporates strict requirements in terms of social protection for workers (trade union representatives, staff representatives, non-child labor, etc.), and in terms of discharges into the environment.
