Omega 3 6 9 by Horse Master has vegetable oils. Vegetable oils have many advantages in horse feed:
They are an energy source: Adding oil increases the energy density of a ration without increasing the food volume. In energy equivalent, 1L of vegetable oil = 3 kg of barley!
They are involved in muscle metabolism: The use of lipids (oils) in the ration saves glycogen stocks (source of energy in the muscle) and therefore delays the onset of fatigue during exercise.
These are sources of omega 3 and 6: Omega 3 and 6 are "essential fatty acids", meaning that they cannot be synthesized by the body. Adding oil to the horse's ration will lead to additional antioxidant requirements, because the oxidation of fatty acids produces free radicals. Thus, vitamin E is able to scavenge these free radicals as a result of oxidative stress.
Omega 3 6 9 is a source of essential fatty acids thanks to corn oil (important source of omega 6), rapeseed oil (source of omega 9) and linseed oil (important source of omega 3) that it brings in ideal proportion. The formula of the Omega 3 6 9 care product also provides a major antioxidant, vitamin E, complementary to the addition of oils in the ration.
Our advice: do not exceed 5 - 7% oil in the concentrate ration for racehorses and 8 - 12% in the concentrate ration for endurance horses. Never exceed 500 ml/day of oil per horse.
